Who can travel?
The following categories of passengers are permitted to enter Saudi Arabia:
- citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia;
- first-degree family members of citizens of Saudi Arabia;
- citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates;
- passengers with an exit/entry, work, residence, tourist or visit visa issued by Saudi Arabia;
- domestic workers of citizens of Saudi Arabia. They must be accompanied by the sponsor;
- domestic workers of citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. They must be accompanied by the sponsor or one of the first-degree family members of the sponsor;
Citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates can enter Saudi Arabia without passport, if travelling with their national ID card.
Passengers with a residence permit issued by one of the GCC countries can get an e-visa before departure depending on their profession. Passenger can check the list of professions and apply for e-visa at https://www.visitsaudi.com/en/travel-regulations/gcc-residents-occupation. Passengers must have an e-visa confirmation.
Passengers could be subject to a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.
Passengers who have been in Iran in the past 14 days are not permitted to enter Saudi Arabia. This doesn’t apply to citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia who are fully vaccinated in Saudi Arabia. Passengers vaccinated out of Saudi Arabia must stay out of Iran for 14 days and can travel to Saudi Arabia on the 15th day. All passengers must hold COVID-19 medical insurance.

What do you need to travel?
Medical insurance
Passengers with a visit visa must have medical insurance to cover COVID‑19 expenses during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Other information
- Passengers holding Saudi Arabia Premium Residency can travel without submitting an exit/re‑entry visa to Saudi Arabia.
- Passengers travelling to perform Umrah must have a medical insurance to cover COVID-19 expenses, and a confirmed return ticket.
Departing from Saudi Arabia
Citizens of Saudi Arabia travelling outside the country must have received the booster shot of a COVID‑19 vaccine 3 months after receiving the second dose. This does not apply to passengers under 16 years old and exempted categories according to Tawakkalna app.
Citizens of Saudi Arabia who have received all the required doses of an approved COVID‑19 vaccine in Saudi Arabia can travel outside the country. This category of passengers must update their status on the Tawakkalna app.
Citizens of Saudi Arabia under 12 years old must have an insurance policy approved by the Saudi Central Bank that covers treatment for COVID‑19 while abroad.
All passengers must travel with their original passport, except for citizens of Saudi Arabia, who can travel with their national ID, subject to final destination entry requirements.
